UK: Bursaries for Overseas Undergraduate Chemists in the School of Chemistry at the University of Southampton
The School of Chemistry is delighted to offer bursaries to support privately funded students from outside the UK and the European Union who succeed in gaining a place on one of our undergraduate programmes. There are a variety of different schemes available.
Bursaries for overseas students entering Year 1 or Year 2 of our degrees
A bursary of £3000 each year will be offered to all overseas students (from outside the EU/ UK) who meet, in full, the conditions of their academic offer.
Conditions
- The bursary will be paid in two equal instalments at the end of each teaching semester and will be subject to the payment of tuition fees as required by the university.
- Payment of the second instalment will be made subject to the above condition and is conditional on the bursary holder meeting, in full, the academic requirements to proceed to their next year of study.
Bursaries for overseas students entering our Foundation Year in Science (Year 0)
A bursary of £2000 will be offered to all overseas students (from outside the EU/ UK) who meet, in full, the conditions of their academic offer and enrol on the Foundation Year in Science (F108)
Conditions
- The bursary will be paid in two equal instalments at the end of each teaching semester and will be subject to the payment of tuition fees as required by the university.
- Payment of the second instalment will be made subject to the above condition and is conditional on the bursary holder meeting, in full, the academic requirements to join a BSc/ MChem programme in chemistry and then enrolling on their chosen course in the academic year following completion of their Foundation Course.
An overseas graduate of the Foundation Year in Science will be eligible for the £3000 per year bursary once they join Year 1 of the BSc or MChem degree.
Bursaries for Channel Island/ Isle of Man students with A level qualifications
CI and IoM students will be eligible for a bursary throughout each year of their degree. The level of the bursary is determined by their A level performance: £500 is available for each grade A obtained in chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics.
