OSI /FCO CHEVENING/CAMBRIDGE SCHOLARSHIPS
IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES
FOR CROATIA

In collaboration with the Open Society Institute and the United Kingdom's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Cambridge Overseas Trust offers a number of scholarships to enable students of outstanding academic merit from Croatia to pursue one-year taught postgraduate courses of study at the University of Cambridge in subjects relevant to the needs of their countries.

Eligible subjects/courses for Croatian citizens are:

MPhil programs:
Criminology, Development Studies, Education, English & Applied Linguistics, Historical Studies, History & Philosophy of Science, International Relations, Law, Management Studies, Philosophy, Political Thought and Intellectual History, Social Anthropology.

Diploma: Management Studies

Citizens of Croatia, and normally resident in Croatia; aged between 23-35 years; who already hold (or expect to hold by the time of taking up the award) a degree equivalent to an upper second from a UK university; have passed an appropriate English language test by the time of taking up the award; have a strong intention to return to their home country at the end of their scholarship period to continue their studies / work there. A preference will go towards applicants who have not studied outside of their home countries.

The scholarships, tenable for one academic year, will provide for payment of academic fees, examination fees, a monthly stipend for living expenses (to be sufficient for a single student), and other agreed allowances including return economy airfare.

All applicants must complete 3 application forms:

1. Graduate Application Form: to be completed and sent directly to the Board of Graduate Studies at Cambridge by applicants by the deadline. One copy of the application and supporting documents must also be delivered to the scholarships administration office in Zagreb (Institute for the Development of Education - address below). Deadline: 31 January 2006 (or by course deadline, whichever is earlier)
2. OSI/FCO Chevening/Cambridge Overseas Trust Scholarship Application Form: to be completed and returned with all required attachments and supporting documents to the OSI scholarships adminstration centre in Croatia (Institute for the Development of Education - address below). Deadline: 28 February 2006
3. Cambridge Trusts Scholarships Application: to be completed and sent directly to the Cambridge Overseas Trust (address below). Deadline: 28 February 2006
