Program
The Berlin-Scholarship-Program allows international students to study for one year at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin or at one of its partner institutions: Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Universität der Künste Berlin, and Fachhochschule für Wirtschaft Berlin.

Along with their studies in Berlin the scholarship holders work together in small groups on a project with the topic “People in Motion – Migration and Integration in Historical and Current Context”. The project will be supervised academically within the framework of a monthly seminar.

Grant holders can carry out their study proposals within two semesters by attending courses at one of the universities in Berlin. The study proposals should be developed according to the home university’s academic requirements.

Application requirements

Students who may apply:

• from Central and Eastern Europe, the CIS-States, Israel and the USA, 
• with a good proficiency in German and special interest in the history of National Socialism. We especially encourage descendants of former forced laborers and other victims of the National Socialist regime to apply.
  

Please submit a draft proposal for a project that can be accomplished within the scholarship year with your proposal.

Proposals should include:

• description of the contentplans for its realisation
•  list of results envisaged project for the project.

Participants are distributed into work groups on the basis of their proposal during the first session of the seminar to develop common project topics. The results of the work will be published in a yearbook.

The scholarship includes:

•  one-year study,
•  monthly stipend of 700 Euros,
•  subsidy towards travel expenses,
•  one-month German language course, as well as an accompanying program.

Sponsor:
The Remembrance and Future Fund is part of the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future, which was established in 2000 with the aim of making humanitarian payments to former forced laborers. The Fund operates as a grant-giving foundation with a long-term mission. Primarily it supports international programs and projects building bridges to Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and the USA.
