MSc EUROPEAN FORESTRY - ERASMUS MUNDUS

International call for students’ applications: MSc European Forestry Erasmus Mundus.

The Master of Science in European Forestry Erasmus Mundus (MSc EF) is a 2-year double degree programme co-organised by the following six European universities:

  • University of Joensuu, Finland (Coordinating University)
  • University of Freiburg, Germany
  • Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Sweden
  • University of Lleida, Spain
  • University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria
  • Wageningen University, the Netherlands

The MSc EF provides academic education in forestry focusing on the international dimension of sustainable forest management issues.

The MSc EF programme is open to students from all countries. Minimum requirements for
studying the MSc EF include a good level of English, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in forestry, nature management or other related disciplines.

The next MSc EF course (2009-2011), will start at the end of August 2009. The deadline for
applications is 31st December 2008.

The application for the MSc European Forestry Erasmus Mundus Course consists on:

  • An electronic application, to be submitted electronically together with the required enclosures as electronic attachments ( the electronic form will be available at the bottom of this page only when the call for applications is open).
  • A printed version of the electronic application, to be submitted by post (hard copy) together with the required enclosures (as paper documents).

Applications submitted ONLY electronically are NOT valid; you must also submit the paper version of your application by post.

  • The required enclosures for your application are:
  • Officially attested true copy of your Bachelor and/or other degree certificates.
  • Authorised translation of the degree certificates in English, unless the original is in English.
  • Official academic study transcript or officially attested true copy of it.
  • Authorised translation of the study transcript in English, unless the original is in English.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Copy of a passport (the page with information on personal details). If passport is not yet available, attach a copy of an identity card or other identity document with a photograph, which includes information on nationality.
  • If you are NOT a native speaker in English, and English has NOT been the language of instruction during your BSc studies, then you must ask your language test administrator (TOEFL or IELTS) to send the results of your test directly to the University of Joensuu; the TOEFL code for the university is 8222. Alternatively, if you are NOT a native speaker of English but English has been the language of instruction during your BSc studies, attach your application a certificate from your university stating that the language of instruction during your BSc studies has been English.
  • Two letters of academic recommendations in sealed envelopes with contact information (university email address) of the referee, according to the REFERENCE FORM provided below. Alternatively, these reference letters can be sent directly to us by the referees.
