Honors College Scholarship, Pittsburg State University

The primary mission of the Honors College at Pittsburg State University is to provide a more meaningful educational experience for select superior undergraduate students. First and foremost, the Honors College has the goal of not only attracting high-quality applicants, but also of retaining them as high-achieving students until graduation.

Among the many benefits of PSU's Honors College is financial assistance:

  • Presidential Award 
     $9,500 per year for four years plus a one-time Study Abroad Stipend up to $2,000 for a total four year package of $40,000.

 

  • University Award 
     $4,500 per year for four years plus a one-time Study Abroad Stipend up to $2,000 for a total four year package of $20,000.

 

  • Crimson and Gold Members 
     $1200 Academic Achievement Award through the Office of Admission and a $1000 Honors College stipend for the first year and are renewable for a second year if they meet criteria.

 

International students receiving Honors College Presidential or University scholarships will also receive a waiver for out-of-state tuition fees. (Flat rate in-state tuition is approximately $5,500 per year).

Here are the steps to take to apply to the Honors College scholarship program:

STEP 1: Apply online for undergraduate admission (Fall 2013) HERE.

STEP 2: Submit: $50 application fee, transcripts, TOEFL/IELTS score, statement of financial support.

STEP 3: Submit all required Honors College scholarship application materials HERE. (Honors College application, essay, official transcripts, reference forms, TOEFL/IELTS and SAT/ACT test results).

All Honors College scholarship application materials must be postmarked by January 15, 2013, to ensure consideration for the applicant in the 2013-2014 Freshmen Honors College Class. Honors College applications received after the Jan. 15 postmarked date will not be considered for review by the Honors College selection committee.
